About Me

My name is Josh Zieber and I am the founder and owner of Zieber Aviation. I was born and raised in northern Ohio. I currently live in Leesville, LA with my wife MyKala and our 4 kids, Elijah (10), Clere (8), Kaitlyn (1) and Mazie who was born February of 2026.
After serving in the Marine Corp I began my flight training in fixed wing aircraft while attending Bowling Green State University, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Technology degree in 2013. After starting off training in a Cessna 172 and earning my Private Pilots Certificate with an instrument rating I continued my training in a Piper Arrow until I completed my Commercial Certificate and finished in a Piper Seminole earning my Multi-engine Rating.

After college I transitioned into rotary aircraft beginning my training at Fort Rucker, AL as a US Army aviator. My initial training started in a TH67 then progressed to combat flight training in an OH58 Kiowa. I received my wings after completing the UH60 Blackhawk course as well as an S-70 Type rating in 2016. I spent the next 4 years flying medevac at Fort Bragg, NC for the 82nd Airbourne Division. From there I was stationed at Fort Campbell, KY and flew in the Assault BN, 101st Airbourne Division for 3 years. After being stationed at Fort Polk, LA I attended WAATS in AZ to begin my training in the UH72 Lakota.
Over the last 13 years my love of flying has only increased and in 2025 I fulfilled a dream of owning my own airplane. I purchased a Piper Warrior II and decided to become a Certified Flight Instructor to pass along the skills, knowledge and passion of flying to anyone that has the desire.
